Girl was made 19 years ago in August 1993. It originated in Torrance, California. Girl was started by Rick Howard, Mike Carroll, Megan Baltimore, and Spike Jonze. It has become so popular because of celebrity endorsement. Many R&B singers like Kanye West endorse Girl. Girl has many pro-riders such as Eric Koston, Guy Mariano, Jeron Wilson, Brian Anderson, Rick McCrank, Mike Carroll, and Rick Howard, two of the founders to name a few. Some of the retired skaters now skate for other brands. Colin McKay, for example or Jereme Rogers, and Paul Rodriguez Jr. who all now skate for Plan B, another big skateboarding company.
