Sidewalk Mag Issue 229 & Redux 2

Posted by Route One on 21st December 2016

Every time we bring up Sidewalk Magazine we tend to wander off into a lament regarding the death of print media and how we were so lucky in this country to have been graced with such an excellent mouthpiece for our beloved pastime. We then sing the praises of the crew behind the mag and their steadfast refusal to let the idea die, instead maintaining their journalistic endeavours via the 'free to view' online version. Do you know why? Because it all remains true!

However, this time we're just going to tell you that, as well as issue 219 hitting the virtual news stands (featuring a brilliant Daryl Dominguez interview (accompanying footage below) and Seb Batty's long overdue 'First Light'), the highly anticipated and very much tangible follow up to 'Redux' will soon be available to purchase - and we couldn't be more stoked with that!

As much as the move to ever more futuristic forms of media consumption can titillate the senses, there is something reassuring about the palpable nature of a physical copy; being able to flick through a magazine, pour over features and photos alike and then share the experience with friends offers a vastly different experience to the immediately disposable nature of on line work. Savouring something physical allows regular revisits, return enjoyment and a genuine feeling of worth not found in electronic media; make sure you get yourself a copy and bathe in its glossed paper glory!
