Vans Presents DERP
This week we're proud to launch our brand new R1 Spring 13 catalogue in association with Vans. On the cover you'll see a tasty backside smith from R1/Vans team rider Josh Young which was taken during the Vans DERP project in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
The DERP initiative was to take the Vans European team to hunt out new spots and make the most of terrain and obstacles not originally intended to be ridden.
They started at the Kupari Tourist Complex in Dubrovnik, Croatia which was heavily shelled during the conflict that beset the region, now only ruins remain of this sprawling complex. Next stop was the remnants of the Dutch Pavilion, a left over from the Expo 2000 Worldâs Fair in Hanover, Germany. Finally, amidst the Olympic fever of summer 2012 the Vans crew ventured to Athens, Greece to explore the legacy of the 2000 games.
