After the 1980s blowout of bright Jimmy'Z pants, Flock-of-Seagulls haircuts and skull fetish graphics, skateboarding's popularity sucked into a downward spiral. As the industry circled the drain and most of the older companies crashed and burned into bankruptcy, a few scrappy upstart brands scurried amongst the rubble and began to slowly rebuild skateboarding. It was a chaotic time when skaters lived below the poverty line as they redefined what was possible on a kid's rolling toy. Jody Morris, the quiet Canadian with cameras slung around his neck, was right there in the shit documenting world-class skating and creating iconic ad campaigns.
