Guy Mariano: Life On Video
Over five days last week the Berrics released a retrospective of Girl pro Guy Mariano’s career, culminating in this simply astonishing new part that dropped on Saturday.
As fantastic as the ‘Bangin!’ that kick started the week was, the following few day’s history lessons were the real treat: From covering his start as the original ‘child prodigy’ to being “montaged”, pretty much missing out on his peak years around the time of ‘Yeah Right’ and then all the way through to his triumphant “come-back” in Lakai's ‘Fully Flared’ – it covers it all with archive footage a plenty.
Then we come new part itself. Expertly shot by Federico Vitetta this is Guy at his very best; creative skateboarding, if somewhat less technical than his ‘Pretty Sweet’ enders, on creative architecture – at 38 this part is better than people half his age are capable of.
Guy speaks about hopefully motivating people and proving that you can skate at your best for many years to come and he’s certainly achieved that.
