Last week saw the sad news that DNA Distribution, and therefore Alien Workshop, had gone out of business. Cryptic Instagram posts set the breaking of the story trickling but it wasn’t long before the news was confirmed and the collective shock of the skateboarding industry was felt all over the world.
Regardless of your thoughts of the recent history of the brand, there is no denying skateboarding and the way we view it would be exponentially different had Neil Blender, Mike Hill and Chris Carter not set the Sovereign Sect wheels in motion 24 years ago.
Pride of place amongst the legacy left by Dayton, Ohio brand is surely their cinematographic output that has always been light years ahead of everything else. To celebrate this mixmaster extraordinaire Manolo has produced perhaps his greatest mixtape to date – the best of Alien Workshop…
