This month Nike SB have launched their highly anticipated Janoski Flyleather. This is a huge step in sustainable skate footwear across the board, with their innovative use of their reworked material 'Flyleather' which is produced here in the UK.
The leather is made in London with a mix of off-cut leathers that have been processed into a pulp and re-worked into its own unique material. Theres at least 50% recycled leather fibre in each shoe, which is a first for so many skate shoes on the market. The gum sole is also produced with at least 3% Nike Grind- which is cast-off manufacturing and recycled shoe rubber, ground up into tiny pieces and remade into shoe soles.
