For their first collaboration of 2026, Nike SB come together with Bronx Girls Skate for their take on the pre-eminent silhouette. Bronx Girls Skate is a female skate collective, founded in 2020 by Mel Ramirez and Kava Vasquez; their Dunk Low Pro celebrates the booming women’s skate scene at Playground 134, and their grassroots approach to skating as they continue to carve out new spaces throughout New York City.

The BXGS Dunk represents more than just a skate shoe. It is about the Bronx. It is about women’s skateboarding. It is about New York. Standing for innovation, community, and family, the shoe embodies not only how they arrived in skateboarding, but where skateboarding can take them; this sentiment is realised throughout the shoe by a reinterpretation of the iconic colours of NYC transit, delivering a momentous homage to the Boogie Down.

BXGS keep it classic. The upper of their tribute is dominated by a black luxe Stingray-texture pebbled leather and contrasted by a white Swoosh. But stealing the spotlight, pops of colour, pulled from the NYC train lines which BXGS use to navigate NYC, highlight the borders of overlaying panels in a mismatched fashion, as green, orange and red hit the edges, accompanied by three coordinated lace options.

But BXGS didn’t stop there with the nods to the Bronx. Underfoot, below the black rubber midsole, a semitranslucent outsole continues the subway theme with custom art and BXGS graffiti lettering, as well as "The Bronx, The World" inscriptions landing on the left and right outsole heels. Inside the shoe, the insole features messages from BXGS’s founders. Moving back up top, doorknocker style NY pendants dangle from the heel loop, reiterating the love for their city, whilst coordinated BXGS dubraes add some extra ice. From the Bronx to the World, this collaboration brings together skate-ready tech with thoughtful NY symbolism for a special Dunk Low Pro effort.
