Hook your dreams with Doobie’s Skate Old Skool Net. Antihero pro, French skateboarding legend, fisherman; Victor “Doobie” Pellegrin is a man of big personality and many talents, and for his next adventure he has reimagined the iconic Vans Old Skool silhouette with a treasure trove of unique design details. This shoe is truly the stuff of folklore.
Coming hot on the heels of his Thrasher “Cold Call”, the signature colourway channels the chaotic energy and uniqueness of Doobie into one of the most recognisable skate shoes of all time. But there is more to this shoe than first meets the eye. A mesh stash pocket in the tongue is the perfect place for any of your treasures, a water-resistant suede protects you from the elements, whilst heavy-duty laces and tough canvas side panels add durability for a wholly skateable shoe. The Old Skool is adorned with an embroidered Sidestripe and a footbed designed by illustrator and long-time Antihero collaborator Todd Francis.
The release of the Doobie Skate Old Skool Net is accompanied by an immense campaign short which is hilarious and unhinged in equal parts; no surprise really, considering it was directed by Jack Lammas and Ed Hubert, the masterminds behind the infamous and wildly popular “Blokes” videos.
A geezer of a fish recalls the tale of Doobie, a fable of rags to riches. Featuring cameos from Doobie’s pals Harry Lintell, Helena Long, Notis Aggelis, Max Pack, Merryn Garner, and Michael Boardman, the video shows Doobie casting out his net on his fresh catch, a shoe which earns him wonderous luck and lands him the status of “World’s Finest Fisherman”.
