Skate Update: Lay, Leo and International Liaison

Skate Update: Lay, Leo and International Liaison
Skate Update: Lay, Leo and International Liaison

tacoma time

Route One fave Ryan Lay continues his low-key YouTube assault with the release of his latest edit, Tacoma Time, and it’s more of the relatable-yet-still-great static-cam tinkering that has seen his account become the slow-burn success his followers love.

About as far removed from the curated, rectilinear lens look of big-budget releases as you can get, Ryan gets in on that self-filming action and shows that the port city of Tacoma has spots! Obviously, it helps that Ryan is uniquely talented, mixing creativity with the lightest of deft feet, while able to capture the most stunning backdrops. Meaning this ain’t your ‘little Tommy Berkins down the local Aldi’ kinda selfie vid!

Clocking in at a smidge over ten minutes and interspersed with the beautiful Washington State countryside, this is yet more proof that Sci-Fi Fantasy pro Ryan is steadily turning his YouTube channel into one of the year’s must-follows. So go give him a follow and enjoy even more of his content!

The Bunt Jam 2026 Presented by VANS

Is the Bunt Jam better than the Dime Glory Challenge? Or is the Dime Glory Challenge better than the Bunt Jam? Honestly, we wouldn’t wanna say! However, one thing we will stake our reputation on is that our Canadian brothers and sisters are throwing the most enjoyable big-money events in all of skateboarding right now. So whether it’s The Bunt or Dime holding an event, we, the viewing public, are always the ultimate winners!

You’ve no doubt gorged on a smorgasbord of clips circulating on Instagram by now. Plan B’s Kristion Jordan tore each and every obstacle a new one, but this full-length recap from Thrasher has way more than the bits you’ve already seen.

And so, from Kristion to Koston, the political tensions that have soured relations between North American neighbours at a national level were nowhere to be seen. Rather, it’s a case of skaters doing what we always do best — ignoring all the bullsh*t and celebrating a great day with mates. Something it seems the rest of the world could learn from us!

Introducing The Seneca by Leo Romero

Seeing a professional skater in the flesh can be an eye-opening experience. If, like us, you’ve made your way to events and demos around the country, you’ve probably watched a fair few pros in your time and marvelled at the control they have over their boards, or the way they commit to difficult tricks first try. Then, every now and again, you see a skater in the flesh who is so far and beyond anyone else you’ve encountered that you start to question whether a new, improved species of human has been discovered. Leo Romero is one of those pros.

Travelling around Manchester with him four years ago, we still can’t get over what we witnessed. This is a man who skates harder, faster and higher than you can genuinely consider possible, AND he makes it look good in the process.

Which is why, when he drops a clip, even if it’s only a minute long, we feel compelled to share it with you. Leo Romero will forever be the most impressive charger we’ve ever seen, and for that reason, we’re giving his brand-new shoe advert a shout-out!
