Emerica x Independent 2016 Collection
If you’re even the slightest bit into skateboarding you’ll have probably heard of the two key brands Independent Trucks and Emerica, who have hit hard this season with a capsule collab.
Independent, or Indy, began way back in 1978 as a solution to the sub-par trucks that were available at the time. Indy, manufactured by the only dedicated truck forgery in the world, quickly grew from strength to strength, and is now one of skating’s most recognisable brands. Their team consists of…well, pretty much everyone; including household name Tony Hawk, Ryan Sheckler, Eric Koston and tons more.
Emerica, a division of the eponymous Sole Tech Industries, has been a go-to brand for skatewear for 20 years now, and are known for their varied styles, high quality skatewear and ultra-tough skate shoes. With a strong relationship to Andrew Reynolds, who also skates Indy, this collaboration between the two brands makes perfect sense and represents a true connection and friendship between the two.
The capsule collection is presented in dark, muted tones across a small variation of styles including a long sleeve and short sleeve tee available in black or dark forest green tie dye, functional coach jacket and old-school trucker cap, all featuring dual branding. The limited edition Reynolds Vulc is presented in a dark green stained colourway, with Emerica’s traditional vulc construction, one-piece toecap, and finished with dual branding including a custom axle nut eyelet to give a hard-wearing, industrial look to this tried-and-tested shoe.
