Glastonbury Festival - The Route One Guide
Summer is upon us, and that means the world’s best known festival is kicking off the season with an insane line-up.
Glasto is now so huge, with a list of artists and acts that would take literally days to sort through, that it’s become a mash-up of several different festivals, creating a kind of spaced-out, incredibly muddly, slightly hippy city to live in for a few days. The sheer size of the place is astounding - just chat to anyone there, and you can guarantee they’ve been to a facepainting party, danced with the Mario brothers, found a drum circle, or something else completely mental that you've never heard of or have been near.
So - the line up. For us, we can’t wait to see what Kanye is going to come up with for his headline slot. Controversy aside, you can guarantee that it will be one hell of a show. The other big acts are festival regulars - Florence, the Foos and Motorhead are also rocking the Pyramid Stage this year. However, it’s the smaller stages that have really got it going on - from old skool classics like Shy FX and Grandmaster Flash, to acts that are just starting to gather momentum like punk duo Slaves or spoken word rapper George The Poet. There’s an amazing amount of UK music this year: grime acts like Skepta, Krept & Konan, Big Narstie as well as dance from SBTRKT and Sigma.
So, whilst you mull over the line-ups with your mates and agonise over what acts and events to check out, at least you wont have to worry about what to take and what to wear. Whether you need a sleeping bag, 5 panel or a bag to chuck it all in- Route One have got your back.
