Joe Hinson Thrasher Part, Deep Fried Cookout & Antonio Durao Spitfire Edit

Aug 2025 by Route One
The Hinse, The Hair and the Homies

You can't rinse the Hinse, or so the saying goes. And it seems that even skateboarding’s number one cynic agrees; Steve Osborne, a.k.a. Black Ninja, just gave Joe a 9.8 in his review of the protagonist’s debut Thrasher part!

And whilst it wasn't a perfect 10 - points were docked for wooden run-ups (justifiably so if you've the run up pics on Hinson's Insta story!) - this was as roundly positive a Ninjalifestyle review as you're ever likely to find. From Kyle Walker level kinked rails to those perfect Rowley-esque tre flip lips, the young lad from rural Cambridgeshire delivered a handrail onslaught so heavy that even the most contrarian man in the biz couldn't find fault. I guess the old adage is true!
You ever go into a skate shop and find one of the old 411VM tapes? Or even something really obscure like Natural Koncepts or P-Stone's Mixed Nuts? There’s a special kind of joy in discovering a completely random lineup of skaters you’ve never heard of, mixed with a few bona fide legends, all dropping hammers purely for your entertainment. Deep Fried’s latest release, Cookout, is exactly that.

Opening with Marshall Manuel and a frankly baffling 5050 hand flip out, this video goes straight into the mosher hammers and doesn't let up for the next 17 minutes and 59 seconds. And with a roster too long to even contemplate copying and pasting, it's an absolute treat to let the chaos unfold, not having a clue who most of the line up really are!
Someone we definitely do know well is the unfathomably talented Antonio Durao. Remember a few years back, when it felt like Antonio was dropping footage pretty much every week? That was a great time to be alive! And though the cessation of his board sponsor, Numbers, seemed to dampen his videographical flame, he's back with a vengeance in this new Spitfire part from Johnny Wilson and it's put a big ol' grin on our faces.

Of course there's a lot more to this piece than the long haired, limp footed lothario himself. Max Palmer, Cyrus Bennett, Rowan Zorilla, Casper Brooker and more plying their trade on the streets of NYC, but it was Antonio's name in the description that first drew us in and, goodness, are we glad it did!
